Purpose of Grant

The Title II-A grant is specifically reserved for district professional development expenses that enhance classroom instruction or instructional skills of educators.  Such professional development can include:

• Trainings held both in and out of state
• Meals and lodging associated with trainings (when needed)
• Contracting professional trainings or consultancies for in-district work
• Paying district teaching staff for trainings
• Paying for substitute teachers due to training absences
• Staff eligible for use of Title II-A funds:
  • Teachers
  • Support Staff
  • Administrators

Determining Use of Title II-A Funds

CCSD2 uses a mixture of means to determine use of Title II-A funds, especially when considering whole-district trainings:

• Annual District Needs Assessment surveys and results
• School principal determination based on staff input, needs of students
• New and ongoing state legislation
• District Administrative Team discussions and determinations
• Teacher requests (individual conferences, trainings, etc.)
